True Friends Never Part

When Elva asked me to photograph her wedding I was thrilled not only was it the first of my friends weddings to shoot but I knew it would be something a little bit different! This bride and groom had their first kiss at the sweet age of twelve and danced their first dance as husband and wife in colourful vans trainers to 'true friends never part'. I met Ross early for a Turkish shave or at least a trim and a good laugh (see those pics on the Bronté facebook) and Elva at her Mum's house where even her dog got its moment to shine.Their evening ceremony was beautiful and after dark we shot their vintage inspired images in the pretty gazebo. This quirky couple didn't let the fact that the heavens decided to open put a dampner on things, sparklers still sparked and fire dancers still danced and after the evening guest arrived a fantastic party and celebration was had. Congratulations Elva and Ross. x

An electric picnic dream

Another Summer, another extraordinary festival! Every year as the Summer grinds to halt I look back as if it were all a dream, full of the most amazing charming characters jam packed with color, love, dancing & merriment and wonder why the world doesn't look like this all the time and why others cant seem to grasp the little fact that life is just one big picnic!

There'll be days like this

The McBride brothers were back in town! Home from San Fran to visit their Irish family, they spent a typically boyish afternoon flying kites, climbing trees, running in the barley field and eating Tayto! This dynamic trio were buckets of energy and had a wild day, they kept me on my feet while I captured their timeless Irish memories as a surprise for their parents before they returned home to America.

Bubbly, chocolates & Orchids...

Enchanting and charming in a tyrian purple tie Michael to match his dates dress, Michael gave Sophie a beautiful orchid corsage and pink champagne bubbles and chocolates for her Mum. Their photos were taken at a 17th century house to give the images a timeless classic look.

What a difference a day makes...

Mr & Mrs Fogarty were blessed with sunshine for the big day! The hottest day of the year, which meant champagne breakfast on the lawn just as planned and great light, a photographers dream. The day started off very chilled inside number 8, where the skies were blue and you could see the sea from the house but else where the bride was cramming a lot into her day, Sinead the bride was at a job interview, this lady doesn't do things by halves. What a remarkable wedding,  oh so elegant, Sinead walked down the aisle in lace while her three best friends as bridesmaids in toe, her Dad sang at the ceremony of their local Sandymount church, were Aidan her groom awaited nervously. When the 'I Do's were done, the couple retreated to the formal gardens of the Radison Blue St Helens where we shot beautiful photographs of the newlyweds. The hotel was formerly one of Ireland's most important historic houses and reflected charm and timeless sophistication to the images.

Long-grass, Little Ladies & their cherished Lola

This is what Summer hazy days are made of, hammocks, sunshine, swings & pillow fights. Mum Miriam wanted to capture her beautiful girls and catch their youthful spirit in time before their wonder years pass in a twinkle of an eye. We had no amateurs even Lola (the dog) loved the camera, the girls faces lit up with glee as I was snap happy.

Balloon's, Kisses & Giggles

Gabby & Ryan were a joy to photograph, full of smiles, laughter & ideas. They both got immersed  in the shoot loving every minute. It was a day of colourful love, Gabby wanted to capture the natural bond between mother and son so we took some timeless pictures of Gabby breastfeeding her beautiful baby boy. Gabby & Ryan's shoot was a present from her friend so that she could send her precious memories home to her family in Czechoslovakia.

Singing in the Rain

This fairytale wedding in Donegal didn't get off to the perfect beginning as it didn't just rain it poured, but it didn't stop this grinning couple from shining all day! Mr & Mrs Lavery did get their perfect ending with the afters taking place in the fantasy inspired Solis Hotel Castle on the paradisal lough eske. We might not have got to take our shots in the pre-decided locations on the banks of the lakes and surrounding forests, but we did have fun running around the large castle exploring the honeymoon suite and wine seller for charming indoor settings. Thank you Colm and Caitriona for such a fun day and night!

Three little ladies have high tea and playtime

High tea has never been so twee. These three sweetpeas had a delightful afternoon. They had delicious cupcakes and lemonade in tea cups and saucers dressed as princesses under the big oak trees, they loved playing dress up, especially Jayden the youngest, who asked 'if they were still princesses?' when they changed into their new purple dresses for an afternoon of climbing trees , swinging on the swings and making flower chains. This cute and sentimental shoot was organized by the little ladies aunt, as a birthday present for her sister, who is said to have shed tears of joy when seeing the final framed photographs and watching the slideshow DVD.
