Fields of Joy in Summerhill

Everything about this wedding was not only elegant but a bit of fun too. We arrived early to Stacey's family home, a beautiful old townhouse in the middle of Summerhill village. There we found an array of matching pink pj's, all the Field sisters hair in rollers and glasses of moet in hand. The house made for a lovely vintage backdrop for the getting ready photographs, were I captured the laughter and merriment of the ladies as well as the smiles of the family dog. After a lovely ceremony in their local church, Stacey & Davoc had a few fun photographs in front of Davoc's brother's big red truck! The couple even had time to stop for a drink in 'john Shaw's' pub and then through a fast food drive thru before heading to the stunning Cabra Castle for the reception. This was a special place for Davoc to get married as paintings of his ancestors hung on the wall in the great room, where we took the Pratt & Fields family portraits. Although the weather had taken a turn for the worse, Stacey & Davoc didn't let it dampen their spirits as we had lots of grand locations like the staircase in Cabra castle for their photographs. Congratulations Stacey & Davoc x

Bronté's First Engagement Shoot

Joanne & Jonathan were understandably nervous about their big day photographs so I suggested we have a trial run for them to feel more comfortable in front of the camera. After a chat and some tea the couple felt more at ease in my presence and when I produced the camera they didn't freeze as they usually would. We tried out a few different poses, used some props and also I got them both to just have fun so I could capture them naturally. On the day of the wedding Jonathan was eager to try out  'The Movie Kiss'! The couple loved their engagement photos so much we made it into a guest book of good wishes for their wedding day. Photos of their book to follow. If you would like a trial run for your wedding or perhaps you would like a sneaky photographer to capture your actual proposal please get in touch :)

One might say...the wedding of the year!

Ollie & James, where do I start, what a day, what a night! This couple shakes things up and shows you how weddings are done, i'd a pain in my face from laughing and a pain in my leg from dancing. It was a big event been Mullingar's first same sex civil partnership and the whole town came out to wish them well. We shot the after ceremony photographs on the banks of Lough Ennel on the grounds of Bloomfeild House Hotel. I knew this was going be no ordinary wedding so I brought along a few props and Im really glad I did. Ollie and James were up for anything, making my job easier as they laughed and joked with their bridal party all the way to the lake, they swung out of lamp post, jumped off tree stumps and even paddled their feet. Not a bridezilla in site! but it is really all about Ollie ;)

Later that night after the feast the couple danced their first dance. Thats when it all kicked off, 'the ymca' was played half way through their first dance song and the floor was swamped and that was it, no-one left the dance floor till dawn. The atmosphere was electric, James, Ollie and me with my camera were swarmed by their guests leaving me with serious photos of people doing the actions of the dance floor classic! thanks for a great wedding Ollie & James, I think you should renew your vows ever year!! x

Summer Sweethearts & Ice- cream Sundays

Paula-Jane & Brian tied the knot in at the beginning of Summer and were blessed with the summer sunshine. Paula smiled and beamed all the day long as she became the stunning bride of her childhood sweet-heart. The light poured through the canopy of trees at Lough Key forest park to create lovely images of our happy couple. The forest park provided an idilic setting for their after ceremony photo shoot. The candy stripe vibrant colors of the cocktail bar in the Landmark hotel was also a great place for a splash of color to add to the fun photographs the couple were after and complimented the red of the bridesmaids dresses which popped in all the images. The candy theme was extended to the lovely ice-creams that their guest enjoyed before the reception and 'Candy' by Paola Nutini was the first dance the couple danced to as husband & wife.

Spring Has Arrived

When I met Angela & Frank at wedding fair in Mullingar I was delighted that they booked me!  I was in primary school with Angela & was over the moon that she had found a fiancé as smiley and happy as herself. Mr & Mrs Geoghan's wedding was a pleasure to photograph as it felt like the first day of spring had finally landed & we could all feel the first heat of summer sunshine. The beautiful cherry blossom was in full bloom outside angela's home where she grew up and it made for lovely pink backdrop. The long aisle of the Cathedral didn't worry this pretty bride as she took it in her stride. At belvedere Angela, Frank their wedding party & flower girls played on the swings, sat on mushrooms and had fun in the fairy garden before heading back to their guests at the Annebrook House Hotel where they danced the night away.
